All chrome bumper Roadster & GT variants were finished by lead-loading the seam between the rear wings and rear valance panel. The seam on the production wings and valances centred at the fuel filler neck aperture. With the introduction of rubber bumper models in 1974 lead-loading was discontinued; the rear valance panel was made wider and the rear wings narrower. Because of modification to the tooling to produce rubber bumper panels, the same is true with Heritage chrome bumper rear wing and valances and as such should be replaced in sets for original cars that still retain their lead-loaded finish. Otherwise, you will have to fill a 2 inch gap between the valance and the wing. From March 1967 all models were fitted with reverse lamps in the rear wing, earlier cars will need to have these apertures blanked off to keep the car as original. Also rear wing assemblies will fit cars with the early type door striker if the \'B\' post is modified.
